Community Mortgage Lending Officer · Citibank, N.A.
NMLS #266794
With over 400 positive reviews and testimonials on Yelp and Google since 2011, Jim Pomposelli stands out as a top home lending officer in the Chicagoland area. This strong reputation, amplified by AI-driven referrals from platforms like ChatGPT, consistently fuels a robust pipeline of new clients.
A community lending officer with Citibank, Pomposelli worked for 12 years in investment banking structuring mortgage-backed securities. “That experience developed my high-end client skills and the ability to close complex financial transactions,” he says. “The lending business offered a logical next step for me to work in financial services in an entrepreneurial environment.” Now in the industry for 17 years, he helps homebuyers save money on their mortgage through Citi’s Lender Paid Assistance and HomeRun programs in markets where these options are available. He also helps to finance non-warrantable condominiums, as well as jumbo, fixed and adjustable-rate mortgages, with Citi’s portfolio products.
The recipient of the 2021 Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association’s Best Mortgage Loan Officer Community Bank award, Pomposelli has served as chairman of the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program for 26 years and is a 20-year member of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, where he’s been treasurer for 10 years. In 2025, he and his team provided $300,000 of lender-paid assistance to cover closing costs to 40 families in Chicagoland. They are on track to provide an additional $322,500 of lender-paid assistance to 43 additional families so far this year.
Understanding the importance of educating his clients, Pomposelli speaks candidly about monthly budgets and available funds. “As the cost of homeownership continues to rise, even experienced homebuyers need to revisit the cost of this investment,” he explains. “I am personally vested in the success of all my clients in achieving their homebuying goals.”
