Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending · CrossCountry Mortgage
NMLS #958111
Many lenders know mortgages. George Kamberos knows how to build wealth through real estate in the unique and highly nuanced city of Chicago.
Nearly 14 years in, Kamberos has closed 1,683 loans totaling more than $630 million in volume, placing him among the top 0.5% of originators nationwide. In 2025, he funded $85.5 million in total volume while growing his purchase business from $41 million to $51 million despite a challenging market.
Though the numbers are impressive, what’s behind them is more so. Some clients meet Kamberos a year before they are ready to buy. He helps them improve credit, think through long-term goals and understand what is realistically possible before they ever start touring homes. The relationship does not begin at the closing table and it rarely ends there either.
Kamberos owns and manages his own multiunit buildings and has renovated and flipped properties throughout Chicago’s North Side. Combined with his wife, Lindsey’s, career in residential real estate with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, his business is woven into nearly every part of daily life for their family. When a client asks whether a four-unit in Logan Square pencils out, Kamberos is not estimating. He knows.
Agents trust Kamberos because he stays close to the deal, picks up the phone and figures out a way through when things get complicated. Clients come back because he tells them the truth, even when it is not what they hoped to hear. Nearly all of his business comes from repeat clients and referrals.
Outside the office, Kamberos chases birdies on the golf course, plays piano and keeps up with his wife; their two boys, Troy and Hunter; and the family Labrador, The Dude.
